I am a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in the field of special education. I have worked extensively with students across various age groups and learning needs. I am passionate about creating inclusive learning environments.
I am a highly experienced senior leader, having worked across education and youth work settings. I have established and run small-group SEN teaching provision within an educational charity and Independent School for children with Special Educational Needs. I have significant experience in managing and delivering alternative education programmes focussed on social-emotional progress, and I specialise in working with children and young people who face multiple complex barriers to full inclusion.

My philosophy centers around the idea that personalised learning is key to unlocking potential. I focus on understanding each student’s individual needs, strengths, and interests, crafting bespoke learning plans that foster growth and confidence. My approach is rooted in empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by SEND students, ensuring that every learner feels supported and empowered to succeed.

Releasing Potential SEND School
Deputy Headteacher at an Independent School for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. I was responsible for a team of staff who deliver a bespoke needs-based curriculum including Functional Skills. I also delivered to small groups of emotionally vulnerable and/or challenging young people. Main duties included:
- Day to day leadership of a team of highly specialised staff including teachers, mentors and support staff.
- Logistical and operational management of Chichester school site, including responsibilities for buildings and health and safety.
- Student and staff timetabling including vehicle schedules.
- Staff performance management including disciplinary and appraisal processes.
- Staff continuing professional development (planning and delivery).
- Referrals to Chichester school site including meeting with parents and other professionals and agreeing placements.
- Attendance at professional meetings including TAF, Section 47, CIN and Annual Review meetings.
- Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities.
- Specialist delivery to children with SEMH needs.
- Delivery of whole-school training and CPD including teaching on the staff Level 3 in The Management of Challenging Behaviour (NCFE).
